Monel 400 Plate is a strong and corrosion-resistant nickel-copper alloy used in tough industrial environments. It contains around 63% nickel and 28–34% copper, along with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, silicon, and sulfur. This alloy is especially useful in marine, chemical, and heat-intensive applications because it stands up well to saltwater, steam, acids, and caustic solutions.
At Preston Pipes and Alloys, we offer Monel 400 plates that conform to ASTM B127 standards. These plates are available in a range of sizes—lengths from 200mm to 6000mm, widths between 1000mm to 2000mm, and thicknesses from 0.3mm to 20mm. They are supplied in hot-rolled or cold-rolled finishes, depending on customer requirements.
Monel 400 performs well across a wide temperature range—from cryogenic levels up to about 1000°F (538°C). It also has a high melting point of around 1350°C. With a density of 8.8 g/cm³, the material offers a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 550 MPa. These features make it suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
The plates also meet NACE MR0175 standards, making them reliable for sour service and offshore use. They can be cut, welded, formed, ground, or polished based on project needs. Alongside plates, we supply Monel 400 sheets, coils, strips, foils, and shim sheets for more specific industrial uses.
