Hastelloy C22 Plate is nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys known for its exceptional resistance to a wide range of oxidising aqueous environments, including those containing chlorine ions, nitric acid mixtures, and wet chlorine. Manufactured to meet ASTM B575 standards, this plate is made from a low carbon, nickel-based alloy composed of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and iron. These elements make it highly durable and resistant to corrosion in both stagnant and flowing conditions. The material is available in various forms such as plates, sheets, strips, shim stock, and coils.
The typical chemical composition includes 20–22.5% chromium, 12.5–14.5% molybdenum, 2.5–3.5% tungsten, and 2–6% iron, with the balance being nickel. Mechanically, the plates offer a minimum tensile strength of 690 MPa, yield strength of 283 MPa, and a minimum elongation of 40%, with a Rockwell hardness below 90 HRB. Hastelloy C22 Plates are easy to weld using common methods like GTAW, SMAW, or GMAW and do not require post-weld heat treatment. These plates are widely used in chemical processing, pollution control, waste treatment, and marine applications where high corrosion resistance is critical.
