Monel K500 Pipes are made of a nickel-copper alloy that is known for being very strong and resistant to corrosion. Monel K500 Pipes contain a high amount of nickel and copper, along with controlled levels of aluminum and titanium that support age-hardening. These pipes show strong resistance to rust, pitting, and chemical attack. They work well from deep cold conditions to high heat, handling temperatures up to about 480°C. The age-hardened condition delivers very high strength levels, with tensile strength near 1100 MPa and yield strength around 790 MPa. They also have good weldability and stable performance under pressure.
Monel K500 Pipes offer long service life and steady strength in harsh settings. They resist seawater, acidic fluids and fast-moving liquids. Their superior hardness supports use in heavy-load parts like pump shafts and drill tools. They maintain their shape and strength across a wide temperature range and handle repeated stress without early wear. The alloy is non-magnetic in the annealed state, which helps in marine and electronic systems. These traits make the pipes a good fit for marine hardware, offshore tools, heat exchangers, valves, aerospace parts, and chemical plant equipment.

Mechanical tests check tensile strength, hardness, and ductility through flattening and flaring tests. Corrosion tests screen for pitting and grain boundary issues. Our NDT checks include hydro testing, ultrasonic scans, and radiography for welded pipes. We also inspect the grain structure and surface finish. For safe delivery we pack Monel K500 Pipes in wooden crates with inner wrapping and end caps. Each piece carries clear marks for size, grade, and lot number. Monel K500 offers significantly higher strength and hardness compared to Monel 400. This is due to the addition of aluminum and titanium and the age-hardening heat treatment. This makes K500 suitable for high-stress, dynamic applications like pump shafts.
Age-hardening is a controlled heat treatment that causes tiny particles of nickel-aluminum and nickel-titanium to form within the alloy structure. These particles harden the material and increase the tensile and yield strength dramatically.
It is ideal because of its excellent resistance to corrosion in seawater and its very high strength. This combination allows parts like propeller shafts and fasteners to withstand the corrosive salty environment and the high mechanical stresses of ocean service.
They provide superior resistance to general corrosion in many acids and alkaline solutions. Crucially, they resist stress corrosion cracking and pitting better than Monel 400, especially in certain environments like non-aerated hydrofluoric acid.
