Stainless Steel 310 Sheet and 310S stainless steel sheet are high-alloy austenitic grades with strong resistance to oxidation corrosion and scaling at high temperatures. The high chromium and nickel content gives them strength and durability even in extreme heat. Stainless steel 310 plate and 310S stainless steel plate work well in furnaces, heat exchangers, kilns and other high temperature settings. Because 310S contains less carbon welding sensitization is less likely to occur. High strength and weldability are also provided by stainless steel 310 and 310S coil for demanding setting. Both grades have a maximum Rockwell B hardness of 95 and mechanical qualities of 40% elongation, 205 MPa yield strength and 515 MPa tensile strength. Up to 1050°C for 310 and 1150°C for 310S these grades function well in high-temperature applications. They handle exposure to moist corrosion at lower temperatures and resist many organic and inorganic chemicals. Weldability is excellent, with 310S offering better protection against intergranular corrosion after welding. At extreme temperatures they maintain their strength and ductility and at cryogenic temperatures, they maintain their toughness. Common uses include furnace parts, burners, heat exchangers, kilns, catalytic recovery systems, and tube hangers in petroleum refining. They also serve in chemical processing, coal gasifiers, food processing equipment, and cryogenic components. These products meet ASTM A240 and ASME SA240 standards, with thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 120 mm and widths from 1000 mm to 3500 mm. Lengths range from 2000 mm to 6000 mm. Surface finishes include 2B, BA, No. 1, No. 4, mirror, checkered, embossed, hairline, and more. Stainless steel 310/310S sheets, plates, and coils are made through melting and casting in electric arc furnaces, followed by hot rolling, optional cold rolling, and surface treatments like annealing, pickling, and polishing. They can be forged at 975–1175°C, welded with standard methods, and cold-formed easily. Machining requires sharp tools and good lubrication to handle work hardening.
Every batch undergoes tensile, hardness, flattening, and flaring tests to confirm mechanical strength.
